>But apparently anything closely related to the soul is not replicable in
Eva, and the ATfield is what keeps it individual. If they could manipulate
ATFields technologically then by extension they could too manipulate
AntiATFields and therefore enact Instrumentality pressing a button. This
poses the problem of the MP Evas, a problem that can be speculatively only
patched if we assume that Kaworu's dummy plugs, maybe helped by the S^2
Engine, allow some sort of derivative soul into the white uglies. It
wouldn't be the first time. The bomb angel (Mr. Amoeba) generated pieces of
itself which had an ATField. Either he's similar to Israfel and therefore it
is probably one ATField surreounding multiple bodies (some problems here but
let's not dig for now) or it is a "filiation" process and therefore we have
a new, "inferior" individual that is nevertheless gifted with a soul and
corresponding ATField. Both cases could then be applied to Kaworu dummy
plugs and the MPs at this point.
But what about the Rei dummy plugs? Ritsuko stated that all the Rei clones in the LCL in Terminal Dogma all have no souls. So wouldn't the same principal apply to the Kaworu dummy plugs? Then the MP Eva's would have no soul, so there AT field would have to be made through different means. Or what about when Unit 1 kills the 13th Angel, Evangelion unit 4? The Rei model dummy plug was in control, Shinji was not even connected, and as I said before, the shells inside the dummy plugs have no souls.
What I think may be a possible explanation, is that AT fields are produced organically, by the mind and not the soul. Or in the case of the Eva's The Core or the Mind of the pilot, even the cores of the dummy plugs. In own a copy of the dubbed episode with Kaworu, and he says that the AT field is the barrier around every mind that exist.
This is a very weak theory, with very little fact to base it on, but I think we are getting somewhere.
