[EVA] EoE in Theaters/Perfect Blue

a not-too-nice trend (?) in MANGA theatrical releases
that may not bode well for the possible EoE theatrical run...

I saw "Perfect Blue" in NYC's Cinema Village 3 weeks ago, a theater once known for refusing to show lousy dubs of anime. The unfortunate thing was that Manga released Perfect Blue in theaters on the condition that it be dubbed in english ONLY. i DO NOT have strong feelings about english-language dubs, but this was quite possibly the worst dub of a full-length anime movie i have ever seen. it was spectacular in its ignominy. The sizable crowd, (mostly over 25 of age as august papers like the NY Times and the once-great Village Voice featured reviews of the movie) was visibly squirming! and this was the same company that made GitS' original japanese-dub run for THREE months here in New York. It completely detracted from the experience!

if it ever happens, the American theatrical release of EOE will start its run here. If it is not shown in the original japanese dub, or else with a mindful English dub, it will be a complete waste of time.
