Not terribly unexpected though. Am I the only person who has seen
Manga's release of 'Tetsuo II: The Body Hammer'?

That's how GitS was, too. And I presume will be the same with 'X'.

Hmmmmmm.... I'm going to have to wait till I see Perfect Blue to make
a judgement on that (obviously). But I really find it hard to believe
that after near-perfect dubs of GitS, Patlabor, Ninja Scroll, Black
Jack and Macross Plus that they'd allow Perfect Blue to sink into
run-of-the-mill bad English dubbing.

I'll have to challenge you on that. Regardless of the quality of the
dub, EoE's plot will (hopefully ¬_¬) be preserved. Yes, hearing Spike
Spencer voice Shinji again might make me throw up, but just seeing it
on the big screen will be more than worth the admission price. Imho.
That said... I am hoping against hope that Manga trashes the original
Eva VA cast idea and looks into their own cast members.
