The ML experiences highs and lows. I have a gut feeling that once EoE
is released in the USA, thread activity will drastically increase.
Sure, 99% of those will be newbie "What did --- mean?", but that 1%
will be a new perspective to the film.

There are still things to be discussed and a multitude of unresolved
mysteries.

Your opinion is your opinion. I haven't seen enough of Gundam to make
a statement such as that, so I won't. But, from what I have seen...
it's apples and oranges.
