Actually, Eva 01's "throw" is really just signifying that it is using its ATF
in an offensive manner. It is using the ATF as a weapon. This scene I think
best shows the power of Unit 01's ATF, as it not only easily cut through
Zeruel's field, but basically sliced the Angel in half! The hand/arm gesture
is similar to that of Unit 02 in EoE during its fight with the JSSDF.
