[EVA] Eyes and Orbs

While looking at my EoE soundtrack booklet, and studying the pictures and 
artwork depicted inside, I had a thought: The angels have red orbs on them 
and then there's Kaworu who has red eyes and is later identified as the 17th 
angel Kaol, and Rei who also has red eyes and is later identified as Lilth? 
Maybe there is a connection with eyes being orbs to the world and the angels 
red orbs? I'm probably totally off base here, but it was just a thought I 
had during my many ponderings and decided to get opinions on it. Any 
thoughts are appreciated.
