[EVA] I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream

Got my eva kits today!!!!!!!!!
Anyways, in the instruction manual for EVA unit 01
deluxe version with stand ( HG not the perfect grade)
it shows some nice sketches of unit 01's bare head
and various pieces of helmet on and off the head. It
also has a plastic helmetless head. One thing is clear,
Unit 01 has no mouth. You can clearly see where it's
mouth should be, the masks' mouth is not below the 
chin as some have suggested, the mouth should be just
below one of the topographical? lines on it's head. All
The head has by way of details is said topographical 
lines (caused by lines of scarring from graft assembly?)
and some small round indentations and the eyes. (there
is a nice eye detail sketch that shows just how weird it 
is) I'm sorry that I don't have access to a scanner to
show these sketches, perhaps someone else can find 
copies?

The only explanation that I can think of is that 01 grows
it's mouth when needed. Later on in the series we see 
the disturbing grin of the head bandaged, but on this 
sketch and plastic head, there is no mouth.
