Seriously though, if you want my rebuttal, here it is.

You note:

Sure. Piercing and neutralizing. No ambiguity, yeah? Now, here's the
question. What's the difference between the two? (See below.)

EVAs:

You're putting words to an image we see. Sure. The methods of passage
through the ATF *will* be somewhat different, at least in appearances. (I
don't expect the Lance to be able to rip apart an ATF with its hands.) Is
the difference a technical difference, though? More to the point, is it
demonstrable that the Lance *doesn't* "phase-match and neutralize" the ATF
barrier at the point of its contact? Is it demonstrable that the mechanism
by which piercing occurs isn't the same as neutralization?

To my knowledge, no such fact is recorded. Other than the "non-ambiguous"
difference between the definitions of the various manners in which passage
through an ATF is possible, there is no solid evidence.
