But the 'change' for eva01 is not 'required' specifically to rip the field. If I
break my wrist it won't heal because it is required for me to type on my
keyboard specifically. While the process for the Eva is voluntary, it takes
place only because Sachiel had broken its hand before. If it hadn't, it wouldn't
have happened. What could be used in its place for that are the unit's
fingernails, which seem to grow to the size of nasty claws for the occasion,
surely to pierce the field. Anyway, while there are similarities in these two
events (and some others), it must be accounted that the record for
neutralization of fields between Evas and angels also includes completely
different episodes, Matarael above all.

So while in some cases the behaviors of the Lance and the Evas in neutralizing
ATFields are similar, there are undoubtedly also cases where they are not. But
the behavior of the Lance is always the same, the Evas' is not.
