Yaaarrrgh!!!

Everytime I think I've gotten my idea of how Eva works scraped up into some
semblance of a structured heap, THIS happens!!!

[image of Vice building his Eva theories into a pyramid in the sand, then kicking
the thing down in frustration...]

My take:

Well, I am seriously considering what YourName said about that Gendou's face
reflection right next to A's head. The creatures on the cross do seem to be
horizontal and maybe in some kind of huge chamber... And if Gendou's watching
it...

Here's a theory worth considering: A isn't Adam, but Unit 01. The scene is in
the geofront, in Nerv... ahem, Gehirn HQ. We are looking at the creation of
the Lilith clone as Gendou saw it back then. ...Well, we know (Ritsuko tells
Shinji) that Yui's experiment didn't happen up where they mess around with Evas
in 2015, but down in Terminal Dogma. It makes sense if the Eva creation happened
down there too. Which means they wouldn't have to shift Lilith around too much.
