It happened in Eva though. With Akagi's mom, she jumped off Central Dogma's 
command tower onto one of the magi, can you imagine being one of the janitors 
of NERV? Having to climb ALL the way up there and pull off brain matter. She 
did like...a swan dive I assume, her head appeared to have bounced off the 
side of the magi and hit the floor. Just a theory.
