While we should try to respect peoples sensibilities there is no removing
sex from EVA. Though there is little sex IN the show, there is more than a
little sexuality in the show. The argument has been put forward that the
'fan service' and the like is there to draw in people who wouldn't
neccessarily watch, the same has been said for the EVA themselves, however i
beg to differ. I think it fairly clear that part of the show is MEANT to be
about sex. From the vague suggestions here and there that you'r eventually
meant to decide against: koworu and shinji? misato and asuka at the springs?
to the definate relationship with misato and kaji. I'm not saying that
everyone in EVA is having sex, but that sex is clearly one of the main
topics in the show as part of one of it's central themes; the process of
achieving adulthood! Of course there is some titilation in the show, it's
only appropriate to balance the more serious side of the issue that we see
in depth in specific scenes. This is just one of the factors in the broader
context of relationships and the broadening of awareness that comes with
adolescence.

Bayne: you can't remove the kind of people from the ML that the show was
aimed at, nor the topics the show discussed, without removing the point nor
the show itself!
