[EVA] Unanswered questions

I still have a great many unanswered questions with Eva, and while I don't
expect to ever find all the answers it still intrigues me to hear others
views on these:

    After 01 chows down on oll' mister monomolecular arms, as it is running
without a known power supply, and it is later stated that the ingested S^2
organ did not activate at this time, did 01 need a sleep after such a big
meal or otherwise, how and why did it stop to enable recovery of both EVA
and Shinji.

    What kind of state was Lilith in before the lance of longinus was used?
She was regenerating, but why? Or was she in some sleeping form and the
lance was used in the same/similar way to it's use at second impact?
Presumably properly this time as there was no big KABOOM.

    If second impact was the result of an attempt to reduce Adam to a foetal
form, why was the giant of light (presumably Adam) running amok, and still
later reduced to said form if the attempt was successful? Unless the aim was
to set Adams S^2 organ to overload, causing him to run about and go pop,
releasing all that S^2 energy in one massive KABOOM leaving just an S^2-less
Adam to regenerate only getting to the foetus form in all that time while
frozen?

    Did SEELE know about Rei's nature? As there is a suggestion in the
conversation after Rei ii's death between Gendo and Fuyutski regarding the
reappearance of Rei. Perhaps she is not a numbered angel like Tabris,
because she wasn't part of the plan?

Hmmm..... just some musings.
