Hmm, I don't think they really did know about the Angels. It was only
after they got the core did they realize the Angel's genetic similarity
with humans. I think that was all they got from the core (or at least
all we know that they got...)

Anyway, as long as you think that the S² is completely different from
the Core we're all good ^_^
