[EVA] Final Genesis

I just finished watching volumes 11-13 for the first time last night.  Was
anyone else disappointed with how it ended?  Talk about your
anti-climax.  After the trippy psychological deluge, I am left with only
one question:  Were Misato and Ritsuko really killed, or was it just
another alternate reality?
