The souls are the red orbs. If you notice, they all return to Earth when 
Lillith/Adam dies. They bleed from Lillith/Adam and LEAVE Unit 01. I just 
rewatched it. You should too.

Adam, Lillith, EVA, Lance of Longinus, Crosses, but no Shinji and Asuka 
pairs as Adam and Eve.

But you can't say "Shinji and Asuka have to be Adam and Eve, because of the 
symbolism!" Yui flat out says that everyone else can return to normal, and 
return their bodies to normal. You're going against the series!

And state one moment when there is Adam/Eve symbolism. Rei and Kaworu have 
that imagery, but not Shinji and Asuka.

That as long as you want to live, anywhere can be heaven? The proving of 
Rei/Kaworu/Yui's speech?

moment alone. Everyone else WILL return to normal.
