  Let's see, Otaku no video was made in '82 and '85 while Evangelion was
made in '95. I'd say no. I have heard a rumor that Shinji and Asuka walk
past in the background of Kare Kano in one episode (given that Kare Kano was
created after Evangelion and Anno directed, this makes a little more sense
than GAiNAX creating Rei 10 years ago and then reusing her), but I haven't
seen it so I can't say for sure.
