Unfortunately, there is a minor problem with this (otherwise it is a golden 
theory) When Shinji is absorbed into the Dirac sea, the Eva has 16 hours of 
reserve power. Now if you remember, when the 16 hours depleted. Shinji was 
dead. The LCL's air supply was low, and he just passed out as to die.  Now, 
where let's take a few examples when the power supply ran out. Like in Ep. 21 
where Eva ate the Angel. As he was beating it's ass, the power ran out, and 
Shinji did not immediately pass out and die. In fact, he was awake for what 
could be considered a good 12 minutes. And when Shinji battled in episode 4 
his power supply ran out, and he was sittin in that thing till the break of 
dawn, remember? That was definately over an hour. I think the power does NOT 
supply the pilot. If you remember, the Entry Plug Suit has it's own power 
supply.
