[EVA] Theory confirmed?

Maybe it's to control the eva.  Like, Ritsuko said the armor wasn't armor, but rather constraints to keep the Eva under their power.  Maybe the power is really to power the armor to make sure the eva does obey the pilot?  I think when the eva's stop moving when unsychronized and without power is because, basically, they don't want to.  They are souless, so what's thier motivation to actually move?  When they do finally move, there is a lot of motivation behind their "beserks"

Me, too -- if for no other reason than the entry plug, with all its
neural link, monitoring, heating/cooling, LCL circulation/purification
and other various functions, could not possibly require that much power
by itself. Even current battery technology should have enough capacity
to power a system like that for more than 5 minutes.

BTW, nice calls on the teeth on the mouth in Lilith's chest and the
wires connecting Lilith's head to the cross. Stuff like this is almost
enough to make a person buy an LD player and check frame by frame just
to see just how much there is. ^^;
