I'm not really replying to anything here, but I do have a relevant question
for the people who started this thread: *What* subtext? Where? Why didn't I
see it? How do you know it's there?

find it for you. Ahh . . . Here's a deal for you. You help me find evidence
for the old "Shinji is a clone" theory, and I'll help you find the subtext
you want, 'kay? Goood boy.

Gendo and Fuyutsuki as a couple . . . Wow. I mean, look at all the time they
spend in that office together. There's a lot of subtext for you . . .

On a minor note:
I do recall seeing it written somewhere that homosexuality in males is
genetic. As you folks know, my memory is somewhat suspect, but if it's true
(and real world science *does,* infact, affect EVA), it puts a whole new
spin on the Shinji-Kaworu thing.
