>>No you didn't miss a thread. The Platonic World of the Forms is
philosophy. The World of the forms is Plato's belief that there are perfect
ideas. Sort of like if I build a desk there is a perfect version of the desk
in heaven. That really isn't an accurate explanation of it if you want one
you will have to read Plato's "The Republic". Specifically the dialogue with
Gorgias. I recommend Richard Sterlings translation. It is readable and
mostly doesn't destroy Plato's original message. You could also take an
intro to philosophy course.<<

(Yet another) repost. Got ignored the first time around.

It's been happening a lot lately, not that that means anything . . .
Deconstructing the LCL definition just in case it's not clear enough. No, I
don't think you're a bunch of idiots. This *is* an attempt at contribution,
even if I know next to nothing about classical philosophy.

JB sez:

[L.C.L.]
2) the "Soup of Life" from which life on Earth originates; the material that
composes human bodies. Viewed in respect to the above, an AT-Field may be
defined as that which gives LCL form; that which separates the essence of
one person from another. When an individual's AT-field vanishes, the ability
to retain form is lost, and the individual reverts to LCL. The relationship
between AT-Fields and LCL can therefore be seen as parallel to the
relationship stated by Plato to exist between "Ideas" and "Phenomenas."

ATF: The concept of a being; that which is capable of shaping a living
entity.
LCL: The material from which the concept manifests as physical reality.

The Perfect World of Forms . . . a world constructed purely from concepts,
where any and every concept can and will manifest. For some reason I'm
reminded of the Sea of LCL.

>>In Meditations, Descartes questions what most people assume is real. He
questioned everything for how can you prove that anything exists. Descartes
expressed this idea in his example about the "evil genius." He thought that
reality might be an illusion created by an Evil
genius to trick him.<<

Dunno . . . this sounds awfully similar to the "EVA is a dream" theory.
