[EVA] Dr Akagi a murderer?

Akagi Naoko (That is her name right?) attempted to salvage Yui after she was
absorbed, correct?  Is it possible that the experiment failed on purpse?
because of her?  In the series, just after Yui  finishes her offscreen reply
that she wanted to show Shinji how bright the future was by bringing him to
Gehirn Headquarters, it shows Naoko kind of looking angry or maybe
determined, I have not decided. kind of a blank but hard stare.  Anyhow, is
it possible that she wanted to get Yui out of the way, or perhaps, Gendo and
she conspired for that end?  Any thoughts on Yuis....demise?
