The very fact that they weren't selected. Given that, out of all the
candidates, only Toji's core was "immediately preparable," it can be said
that it was *convenient* for NERV to choose him. This implies that choosing
another candidate would've required more preparation and possibly wasted
time. *Inconvenience.* Why do this when a pilot is immediately ready?
