Don't exactly know where Lilith fits in. It is most likely that they found 
her in the center of the black moon, and since Yui is still alive when 
construction of the Geofront is well underway, I'd say that this happened 
either shortly prior to or following the Impact.

Rei is cloned purely from salvaged Yui material.

It is strongly hinted that Adam's embryonisation was achieved by use of the 
Lance or Longinus. As far as we know, Lilith was discovered nailed to a big 
cross.

Yeah, see, you're still gonna have to give me evidence for that last 
premiss there. And that's in the face of canon information to the contrary.

The characters in Eva are the most human I've personally seen in any 
animated show. To understand all of Rei's motivations, you'd have to be 
able to completely understand another person, not just a TV character.
