Bummer -- I hope Sadamoto isn't just tired of working on this or at a
loss as to where to go with it. I've enjoyed his take on the characters
and variations on the story through the fifth collection. It would seem
to be a pity if he just followed the rest of the anime dead-on rather
than exploring his version of the Evaverse more.

Here's hoping that this marks a transition away from the anime again
(considering that the manga has matched some parts of the story pretty
closely before).
I for one would like to see some kind of confrontation between Sadamoto's
Less Spineless Shinji (tm) and Almost Outgoing Rei (tm) when Rei's origin
is finally revealed.
