Then there's the other question about those shoulder additions. Whether they
are batteries or part of the "control system", it is stated that they are
part of the human additions to Evangelion. Wasn't the original incarnation
of Unit-00 lacking them? Back when it was orange, before the four angel
melted it.

Anyway, the Giant of Light had those same shoulder units. What is that
supposed to imply? My best guess is that the giant really wouldn't have had
them since they are human-created after market accessories but the
shillouhette(sp) would not have been so unmistakable Adam was portrayed
simply as a human form. EVA is obscure enough at times without adding to the
obscureness. :)
