Exactly. Winston accepting Big Brother did not negate the message of the
book.
Shinji accepting Complement Project, in the TV ending, does not negate
the message of Evangelion.

I guess I'm just a fan of the deus-ex-machina. I loved the end of
Magnolia, too :P
To that end, I quite enjoyed seeing Eva-01 wake up, over and over again,
to kill the Angels.
(although, that may be my fan-service otaku tendancies ^^;)
