Pretty much doubt that, in Air her concern is a matter of "what a man's gotta
do".

I can't see that in that occasion. Shinji refused contact, Misato tried to find
consolation herself in contact, but I doubt there was much more, if Anno wanted
us to think so he'd have placed better hints.
