oh. you're right. i suck! i knew there had to be a flaw in it. =)
i'll go read that other thread now.. my way's cool though. damnit. oh well. 
i agree, it has always seemed to me to be possible to have gone either way. 
(reality or instrumentality.) another possibility is that anno didn't worry 
about the specifics of chronological possibilities when creating the film 
cos it had been awhile and he was going for effect. how about that? =)
