Actually, I thought the list was doing fairly well, from the
occasional (rare) check-in I did.

Indeed, I do.
Although, over the past few years, my interests have diverged to the
point where I don't have much time to follow the list. That's why you
haven't seen me post in... well... forever.
I do respond to email, though... So if you have a list issue, let me
know, and I'll try to fix it. If it stays broken, then bug me again
until I get it right.

In practice, I haven't done much in the way of maintainence, but I
haven't really had people complaining to me. I though I had fixed the
archives, but that obviously didn't take. I reindexed them just now,
and updated the cron job that should keep them indexed.
Well, how to fix it... If the list wants to somehow appoint some
members as administrators, that could perhaps help, but I have no real
plan as to how they would be picked.
Alternatively, if someone else could come up with a plan to run the
list, I could perhaps support that as well, so long as it lead to the
list running on an ad-free server (as opposed to one of the commercial
hosting services) maintained by a competent admin, and the list
members were on-board.
