The Lance came back from the moon, but that was unintended -- call it a
(un)fortunate accident depending on which side you are on (Seele vs. Nerv).
With the original Lance lost, Seele intended to initiate Third Impact and
Instrumentality using only Eva-01 and the Eva Series with their replica Lances.
