Yes ^^
Well actually no ^^
The impression I get is that Manga don't have anything to do with
the dub. Amanda Winn Lee and Co have completed the dub, and
then passed it onto Manga to distribute.

hi everyone-
Sorry for the delay in updates! I was in the hospital again for a while,
so it pushed us back a few weeks. Nope, I'm still not dying. My stupid
body was just trying to tell me to stop working so many 14 hour days.
Some one once told me the Eva productions carried a curse with them
(kinda like King Tut's Tomb). I think I'm starting to believe it... Anyway,
I'm fine now.
Once again, here's the scoop-
We have FINALLY finished mixing the movies (D&R, EoE). It was a
long and somewhat painful process, but the end result was well worth it.
There are some truly stellar performances, and the 5.1 mix sounds
INCREDIBLE.
Rest assured, we did stay true to the original Japanese. However, I must
ask you all this-- I have just read several posts where people have been
ridiculously adamant about how the dub should remain totally, utterly, and
completely faithful to the original, and if there's even ONE minor change
or
addition, they'll go ballistic and write Manga evil letters. Like I said,
there are
no changes, but my question is, why buy the dub then? It sounds like no
matter what we do with it, you will be unhappy, so why watch? The Eva
movies are incredibly complex and intricate, and my interpretation is bound
to differ somewhat from yours. What to me is remaining true to the original
may seem like a drastic depature to you. Some of you obviously have some
very strong feelings about it. If you are unhappy with the dub, please
don't
pester Manga with your complaints. It's my fault, not theirs.
Also, I'd like to caution you once again about posting information that
comes
from a source other than me or Keith Burgess. I have seen a lot of
misinformation
about the movies on this board... Any question about the movie content, ask
me.
Any questions about the packaging and distribution, ask Keith. Next time,
just ask us, okay?
Well kids, I am EXHAUSTED, and have a full day on the studio doing the
surround and the stereo laybacks, so I must go get some sleep. Rest assured
I haven't found another board I like better. (Actually, I think this is the
only
one I belong to...) I've just been crazy busy getting this thing done. I'm
really
happy with the results, and I hope you will be, too!
Thanks again for your continued interest and kind words!
muchas smooches,
amanda

long:

Like I said before, ask Manga. Once the production on the movie is
done it's out of our hands...
HOWEVER, I can say that six months is about right to get the packages
designed, test prints done, test copies of VHS done, design DVD menus,
compile any extras they want to add to the DVD (that includes filming and
editing, and/or formatting text and graphics), doing the DVD test print,
then getting 100's of thousands of copies of each made. no to mention that
they also have other titles that need to be packaged and sent out as well.
I'm actually impressed they can get it all done in only six months...
Getting
products ready for distribution is a long, arduous process. I'm sure they
could probably slap something together in a month or two, but it would
look like crap. Then they'd have fans griping because the production
values sucked. As far as fans are concerned, distribution is a no-win
situation.
That's why I just do the production on the movies and let someone else cope
with the packaging and distribution nightmare.
----------------
So it seems that if any lines were changed or it doesn't hold "true"
to the original we should gripe at Amanda Winn Lee and co, and
if it is late from now on, we should gripe at Manga ^^
