Borrowing from Bochan-bird's original post:

read the whole thing)
The scene is where Misato is telling Shinji about Adam, Lilith and
humans as the 18th angel (The End of Evangelion: Episode 25' Air).
OLD/INCORRECT: Shinji, we humans, just like Adam, were born from the
source of all life called Lilith. We are the 18th angel.
NEW/CORRECT: Shinji, we humans were also born from a being called
Lilith, who is the source of life just like Adam. We are the 18th angel.
Original Japanese (Story Board Book P. 583): "Shinji-kun, watashi-tachi
ningen mo ne, *Adam to onaji Lilith* to yobareru seimei-tai no minamoto
kara umareta, 18 ban-me no shito na no yo."
---------------------
The point is the old (incorrect) translation says Adam came from Lilith,
"...we humans, just like Adam..". The new (correct) translation says
that Adam and Lilith are equal beings - two sources of life, "...from a
being called Lilith, who is the source of life just like Adam...")
>and the Occam's Razor, could someone please elaborate?
A theory from a 14th century logician (Occam) that says, "Entities
should not be multiplied unnecessarily."
Which, basically, boils down to "The simplest explanation tends to be
the best."
