In a sense isn't this what happens?  The 17th Angel
has been defeated.  Maya, Makoto and Shigeru are
discussing what's going to happen to NERV when the
Geofront is attacked by the JSSDF and the forces of
SEELE, ie Lilim.  And in mythology, aren't Lilim the
demons which Lilith gave birth to?
