you're mixing up two points. no one is suggesting that kaworu himself is not 
tabris, and not an angel. but he is vested with the soul of adam. the body 
of adam is controlled by gendou and is eventually subsumed into his hand, in 
fact. if you haven't cottoned onto the soul switcheroos that weave through 
the evangelion narrative, i can't imagine you are too well versed in it. =)

i think it's a highly credible theory that adam's soul is in kaworu. i'm 
sure someone else will come back with some great canonical text and/or 
excellent arguments to back this one up. =)
