You're not the only one who's been wondering. I can't believe they made
an error by adding extra footage, mwahahaha. >:-)

Actually, I was going to try and find an explanation to this in a fanfic
epic I've been planning. It sorta goes out from the fact that Lilith is
larger and therefore blocks out Adams signals. OK, I just invented that
right now, but don't tell everybody I said that. :-)

I'd like to add that I'm wondering why Asuka always wears her neural
transmitters, even at leisure... in fact she not just wears them, they
form an integral part of her hairdo. My SWAG is that Gainax just thought
she looks cute with them on.
