all of this occurred to me, too. unfortunately we have to wait for DLW to
lay down the data. another thought is that perhaps they are mimicing the
cowboy bebop box and including some sort of soundtrack disc. after all,
ADV/TRSI's soundtrack line is reputed to have around 100 titles in the
works. who knows?

as someone pointed out on the AoD forum, mainstream studios do this *all the
time*. personally, i don't care, because i'm getting a nice box set and some
sort of "premium" bonus and a nice, happy remastered disc one. the only disc
i'd bought was the first one and i'll ebay it soon. it doesn't bug me too
much.. it's just an inconvenience in the large scheme of things. a new disc
1 is better than no new disc 1, imo. this is like standard operating
procedure for studios. anime studios just try harder to please the vocal
minority because it's such a fan-oriented market.
