the thing is, though, that a good ADR director would be enforcing a specific 
pronunciation. the inconsistencies in the dub reflect a lack of control on 
the part of the director. with a word like "eva" (root in a real word or 
not) it's something that you're going to have to instruct the actors how to 
say it properly. people in US productions don't have regional accents -- 
most actors adopt a fakey "from nowhere" american accent.

there's only one right way to say it, and kwaa-ru isn't the one.

personally, all of these comments about the commentary track made me glad i 
didn't force myself to watch it because it would have driven me completely 
nuts. =)

to be honest, i could not possibly care what they do with the EoE dub 
because i am not capable of watching eva dubbed. as much as i don't mind 
dubs of other series, eva is too special, and the dub too poor, to bear.
