If you remember, at the shot of the JSSDF soldier
using the flame thrower on some NERV personnel there's
a quick pause between bursts of fire. In the Japanese
you don't hear anything except the girl screaming. In
the dub Amanda Winn-Lee took it upon herself to make
one of the JSSDF soldiers say, "Hit 'em again!"
between the bursts. The timing is off and it feels
forced and rushed, but the voice itself also sounds
terrible (that kinda, stereotypical gruff solider type
voice) and the whole thing justs stinks in my opinion.
There was no reason to add the line, and Winn-Lee even
says so - but doesn't care because she wanted to be
amused.

Hehe, you're preaching to the choir :)
There are some dubs I think are very good (oddly
enough, I like most of Manga Ent's early catalogue
dubs), but I can't think of any that I prefer dubbed
over the Japanese.
