Is'nt "gaijin" a kind of Japanese insult at non-Japanese, like "gringo"
for non-Latin Americans.

BTW did Misato say the wors softly or shout it, or what.

Allison Keith could have *refused* to say it. But maybe the word is one
she uses anyway when talking, & she did not notice. Or it did not seem
odd to her.
