Heh, ADV is definately in my bottom 3.
Manga's much higher up there. Though Pioneer is
probably my favorite. Their DVDs always look great,
and they do a respectable job.

Assuming Winn-Lee is in the director's chair? I don't
doubt that they would have. She directed some of the
TV episodes, iirc, so it's no be stretch.

But it's a totally different situation, irl. She was
contracted with her Gaijin Productions to do this dub
for Manga, probably because Manga thought the dub fans
would be glad to see Winn-Lee returning - seeing as
she *is* the fan-favorite. This wasn't an in-house
thing with a company she's been with for many years.
So the whole circumstance changes.

Er.. I sincerely doubt it. They didn't think there was
anything wrong with changing "Lilim" to "Humans" on
the VHS sub. They defended it, in fact, and didn't
understand why people were complaining. I don't think
they care about the details of Evangelion. I know
hardcore Eva fans like us who didn't notice any
difference between the two. It's just one of those
things.

I'm not so sure. Manga didn't cover up title cards,
and left all the original Japanese text alone. No one
complained when ADV removed all the Japanese title
cards and replaced them with English video titles. I
thought it looked really bad. But Manga took the best
route and just subbed everything with removable subs.
I think that speaks volumes.

And where is my replacement disc for this faulty DVD
#1? Oh wait! That's right! I'm supposed to go out and
put down another $30 if I want what to see those
episodes done right (can you even buy that disc
seperately yet? Or is it still a boxset thing?). How
chummy.

Moreover, ADV has blatantly and purposely lied to fans
in the past, and since that issue I've stopped viewing
ADV films as anything respectful or 'by fans, for
fans'. And you know - the only ADV Films release I
have is Evangelion.

Hmm.. I think I kind of went off one one of my "I Hate
ADV" tangents again :P
