[EVA] EoE little spoiler: dream or reality?

I used to think that as well. I still do occasionally. I think there 
is evidence to support both contentions, and I generally now
just pick one or the other depending on my particular mood at
the time. There is lots of evidence on the "for" side, and lots of
evidence on the "against" side, and neither really shows it
either way conclusively. Thus it comes down to personal 
opinion. Often I like what it explains if it took place in reality
(the reason for Asuka leaving Misato's home for instance)
but at other times I don't like what it implies about the
Children's real world relationship. I guess it comes down to
whether you believe that Shinji could be such a hardass 
pre-Kaworu's death.
