[EVA] 2nd Coming??

That would be cool. As long as Misato was there (want to see her keep
*that* promise to Shinji).

Me too :(  Or a time travel story. Kaji goes "Back to the Future", &
either finds or makes the Dead sea Scrolls have more/different, thus
affecting the outcome, or (knowing Anno), inadvertantly makes the
outcome what actually happened.

: 3. Taking a page from Tenchi, reuse the same characters in
: a totally new setting. Love EVA would be an example.

umm "Shinji in Shanghai/Singapore",  "Asuka in Osaka/Okinawa", "Kaji in
Kyoto", "Battle Evangelions Victory", . Or they could all come back as
Sailor Scouts....where "R" comes from?

Maybe a S-D series "Adventures of the Mini-Evas" (as an omake they could
call it "NERV Ends"), didn't Gainax do "Scramble Wars"?

: 4. Variation on #3, alternate EVA universe where there are
: still giant robots and angels but the storyline goes
: differently.

Well Unit 01/Yui is still around. So is the Lance, Shinji (who is a
reincarnation?), Asuka & Rei/Lilith in "Humpty Dumpty" mode (as I
explained to my younger sister).

: 5. My favorite scenario: remember that excellent EVA
: sequel image that was floating around, Neon Genesis
: Repreise? Rei, Shinji, Asuka, all looking about 10 years
: older, implying a story after Third Impact. Niced touch,
: Shinji is wearing Misato's cross. Just one look at the
: picture sends the mind racing to figure out what the
: storyline could be.

Where can I find that? What, no Misato?

: If I were a betting man I'd put my money on #3. The most
: recent EVA products coming out, from what I understand,
: are all dress-up doll games and the like, taking the
: characters totally out of the context of EVA itself. The
: fans like the personalities and the play of interactions
: between them, giant robots are not necessary for this to

Maybe a total CGI Eva series, the way Gainax said they were heading.
Like GiTS & Appleseed for example.

If Eva had concluded neatly, it would not be as well known as it is. If
it continues it would be like Gundam maybe. Evas of different types, but
looking similar, with different pilots in different universes. "Brain
Power" bombed as an imitation. And a series like "Gundam G" or "Macross
7" would be what the franchise would devolve to.

Best to hope for would be a Macross Plus type spinoff IMO.
