I'd rather see the ML die, than see it turn into just
another pointless Yahoo! club or the like. And as soon
as you throw out the polices that made the ML what it
became, that's exactly what would happen. Is that
elitist? Probably. But it's also true.

Uh - you know what I mean.
I would rather se ZERO posts, than 50 posts devoid of
any real meaning.

So, what? The Animenation.com Eva forum has hundreds
of posts every day... 3/4 of which say "I love Rei!
She rocks!" - or the equivalent of.

Fanfic discussion became discouraged because this ML
is about Evangelion - the official anime and manga
series.

Posting fanfics is allowed, as is discussion to a
certain extent. However, the focus should always be
the real series.

This thread was turning into people saying "I like
this fanfic - go here..." or "Yeah, that's good - but
this is better ......" with little meaningful
dialogue.

When I checked my mail and for 30 some posts about
"2nd Coming" - I was at first thrilled. New
discussion! But when I started reading I was sorely
disappointed to it to be nothing but people plugging
fanfics.

I would rather have seen some comments made about the
implications that article Bochan posted relates to
Evangelion fandom and lusting after Rei and Asuka.

I dunno. I guess I just wish things were like they
used to be on this ML. And if it can't be like that,
I'd rather see the ML drift quietly into nothingness
and retain the title of having been one of the best
Eva resources that *didn't* fall apart into worthless
"Rei's hot!" "Read Eva-R! It's kewl!" "Manga sucks!"
"ADV sucks more!", like many other forums have.



There's nothing I can do to stop you from conducting
this thread however you want to - meaning this
sub-thread is just as useless. I suggest we drop it.
It's obvious we have a irreconcilable differences in
philosophy. Afterall, if the ML takes the plunge, I
can always hit that unsubscribe button myself.
