[EVA] Rahxephon and the big E?

Most of the people who are interested have probably already heard that ADV
announced the release of the first Rahxephon DVD for March next year. And
those who are interested also know that you can’t read a damn thing about
RahX without seeing the word “Evangelion” five seconds later.

So, what are you opinions on the similarities between the two shows? Is
RahX more of an homage, or a blatant rip-off? Was Evangelion even that
original to start with? Many big anime directors including Oshii and Anno
himself have been quoted saying that ‘copying’ previous work isn’t
necessarily a bad thing if it’s done well and holds its own uniqueness.
What are your thoughts?
