I guess so, though with shows like that, it's not what
happens at the end that counts as how you get there 
:)

That probably describes a fair few anime series, eg
recently Love Hina, Onegai Teacher.  It's kinda for
that reason that Mahoromatic is the first GAiNAX anime
I haven't followed.

Then again, AIKa and Najica tend to leave out the
young boy part completely and just cut to the chase 
:D

I'm hoping that the next series (Abeno Magic Shop or
whatever it's called) will be more interesting.
