>>I heard something that nearly made me piss myself.... We all know that in
Australia they released Eva to Cartoon Network. The rumor is that it's gonna
happen here in the states too. If this happens, they'll turn it into a Y7
show...
Its just that, a rumor. There are no signs that Eva is coming to Cartoon Network in the US.
>>yes, it's possible, just look what they did to Outlaw Star!
The difference with Outlaw Star is that it was on Toonami. Eva wouldn't be on Toonami. There's no chance in hell of that happening :P
>>Not only
that but it'll be mainstream instead of underground for just the big Anime
fans like us... imagine walking into school and having everyone be talking
about the series that used to just be an exclusive thing to you!
Even if Eva aired on Cartoon Network, it won't be mainstream, well a mainstream part of soceity anyway. I wouldn't worry, even if it did air, its not gonna be another DBZ where you have little kids talking about how cool Vegeta or Krillin is...
>>And still
I'm hung up on how they'd edit it... I mean my God think of all the damage
they'd have to but can do to it!
Actually, if aired on Adult Swim, which is the only place it could be aired, I can't see it being edited that much. Eva isn't that risque of a show.
>>Painted on bathing suits when someone's
naked,
I'd bank on what they did on Bebop, merely cropping the scene so you don't see the breasts. There might be some difficulty with the Rei clones, but since its barbie doll nudity, who knows, they might show it. Its not like you've got real nudity in Eva.
>>language,
So? Whats the big deal if the occasional swear gets edited out? I don't recall Eva having that many swears anyway.
>>blood,
Yeah, they'll probably have to tone down episode 18. But thats the only big problem I see. They let quite a lot of blood go on Bebop.
>>all the biblical references!
The biblical references wouldn't be edited out. Its harmless window dressing.
>> And don't go telling me the crap
like "hey, they'll put it on Adult Swim so if it goes mainstream at least
it
won't be edited," because that's bull my friends, look how they mutilated
everything on their "adult swim" with the exception of Yu-Yu and
Cowboy
Bebop, those are the only ones that didn't start edited or didn't get edited.
You don't know how Adult Swim works though. When they started the new block in February, they only had 1 new show to go on there (Yu Yu Hakusho), and Bebop. They needed 2 hours of filler. So they put stuff that was originally edited for Toonami on there. Thats why they were edited so bad. As new shows come to Adult Swim, the filler will be faded out (as Tenchi already has been) and the new stuff will be edited with the same standards as Bebop/Yu Yu
>>For the love of all things sacred in the world of anime I'm praying the rumor
isn't true, else I'll have to go to the CN studios and blow up everyone there
I don't think its true, although I think Eva would work on Adult Swim. The problem is that the budget for Adult Swim isn't that big, and ADV would probably charge a lot to air and edit Eva (ADV would have to do the editing. Which is actually good news for us Eva fans since they'd probably do it very carefully)
