SPOILERS FROM EPISODE 23 TO BEYOND.

*ahem*

I think I've found something that this list hasn't discussed all that much.
That being the nature of the angels themselves. We know that the angels
come from the source of life Adam, and that they are all attempting to
reunite with Adam (except Kaworu, who seems to be all willy-nilly about
things given the director's cut of episode 24 and the expository Seele
discussion... ^^;).

Admittedly, when I saw the images at the honorable site
http://www.evaotaku.com , I thought that the 16th angel was something akin
to a giant turnip. I blame this on the size of the images, though I'm sure
there's some subconscious Mario Bros. 2 trauma at work as well. However,
looking through my copy of Groundworks vol. 3, I noticed that infestation
wasn't a giant turnip, but an amalgam of all of the previous angels that had
a physical form (3rd - 10th, 12th, 14th and 15th).

Now, my main question is whether this is the nature of all the angels
(containing the genetic history of previous angels), or this is a result of
joing with Unit-00' (a clone of Adam)? The latter seems a bit more
probable, providing a parallel with Lilith and the many 'Lilim' arms and
legs that protruded from the stumps of her legs.

This also makes me wonder if the Giant Rei that emerges from Unit-00' is
simply the result of the angel and Eva merging, or if Rei's genetic ancestry
provided something similar to "End of Evangelion"'s union of the Adam embryo
and Rei/Lilith.

If anyone has a more informational source, I'd be interested in knowing if
there's anything further said or depicted.

The not so horribly bright,

Matt R.
