Good article. I (like many others I expect) have the Gainax DVDs
imported and therefore will be making stern comparison.

I fail to see the logic of Manga spending extra years and money with all
the extras, just to cut corners with the sound tracks. So the Gainax
DVDs are still the only "directors track" licensed versions of the
movies.

I regard the tv ending and movies endings as *alternate* versions. But
unless asked, will not go into my reasons.
