Why would Gainax want *us* to have a better "Rebirth" than they gave to
their own home market?

The third "Second Impact" DVD set even had original "Death" with the
other 2, & all 3 sets had the TV, not video-only, episodes.

Their whole approach to Eva is puzzling IMO.
